5 Tips for Planning the Best Hen Party Ever

Hen Party   /   Mar 8th, 2018   /   0 COMMENTS   /  A+ | a-

There is a lot of responsibility to go around when planning a wedding. That’s why the chief bridesmaid is usually the one to take over planning the hen party. If that’s you, then you have a serious job on your hands. You have to balance the needs of the bride, family and friends, the location, what to do and lots more. But take a deep breath because we have some great planning tips to help you create the best hen party ever.

Picking the date

Picking the date can be difficult but you want to get it selected almost as soon as the wedding date is picked. That way people have plenty of notice and can plan for the event (and have their finances in place). If you are planning something that involves more than a night at the local restaurant you might want to go 4-6 weeks before the wedding to allow people to budget for both. As soon as you have the date and the guest list in place and the bride is happy with it, send out ‘save the date’ cards to everyone who will be invited so they know when the hen party will be.

Who will be attending?

One of the key points to organising a hen party is to see who will be attending. The blend of personalities and age groups can have a big impact on what you do. For instance, some of the older generations might not be up for a weekend clubbing in Ibiza (or they might!) while people with kids might not want to leave them for 2-3 nights. You might want to go white water rafting but is the bride’s 80-year-old grandmother up for it? She might be, but you need to understand all of this before deciding on what to do.

Consider more than one hen party

It might be worth considering more than one hen party depending on that audience. You might want to organise a fun weekend to Brighton complete with Buff Butlers, party games and cocktails. And you might also want to arrange a meal at a nice restaurant for all the people who don’t or can’t attend that event. Or create a plan where people can attend for parts of the hen party – maybe the first night is the meal and the second is the butlers. People can choose to be there for one or the other – or both.

Create a realistic schedule

If you are planning a hen party with more than one element to it, create a realistic schedule. If you do some outdoor activity then back to the hotel and out for a night on the town, leave people plenty of time to relax a little and get ready. If people are rushed, they won’t enjoy things as much so create a realistic schedule.

Have a Facebook group for the hen party

Most of us are on social media so the easiest way to keep everyone up to date about the hen party is to create a Facebook group and add everyone who is invited. That way you can share information, get replies to people attending and build up excitement – without the groom or any of the guys being able to see!

Freddie was really good at starting the party vibes. Bride was very happy and he wasn’t forceful with anything (respectful with people that didn’t want to take part). He asked if everyone was comfortable, helped serve drinks. Very happy!

We had a great time with our butler. I was a bit aprehensive to book at first as it was for my sister's hen with older family members there, but John was great at included everyone and making sure we all had fun. It was a great way to start our hen break and get all the hens mixing and having fun. Thanks John.
