How to Choose the Venue for Your Hen Party

Hen Party   /   Mar 15th, 2018   /   0 COMMENTS   /  A+ | a-

One of the biggest parts of organising a hen party for yourself or someone else is where to have it. The venue or venues can make or break the event and is something you want to decide on at the very beginning of the planning process. You may know where you want to go but what do you want to do when you get there?

Classic hen party ideas

One of the classics of the hen party is the night out and there are lots of great places around the UK that are known for their nightlife. But you still want to do a little planning. Look at what time the clubs open and how everyone will get home afterwards – is there public transport, will you need taxis or a minibus? Or might it be better to grab a set of inexpensive hotel rooms, so you can all just pile into the hotel? There are lots of ways to adapt the classic night out idea into something different. Cocktail making is great fun and you get to test your creations along the way. Learn from a professional and bring your inner mixologist out with the experience.

Fun hen party activities

Some activities are venue-based so when you decide that you want to do them, you don’t need to worry about where you will be going. One popular idea at the moment is gin tasting while wine tasting is another classic. This is an ideal activity if you have a mix of people who wouldn’t all enjoy the night on the town hen party. Treasure hunts take place around a city area and involve everyone getting into teams and searching for treasure. It is all organised for you and you don’t need to worry about creating the trail or the prizes, so it can be a minimal work hen party idea if everyone is active and loves a challenge.

Relaxing hen parties

Not all hen parties need to involve lots of activity and alcohol. One example is known as ‘zen parties’ and is pamper weekends or days in different forms. These are ideal if you want something relaxing and pampering for your hen party. It is also ideal if you want something close to home as many of the big hotels around the UK offer different packages, so you can find something near where everyone lives.

Hen party at home

You don’t need to leave home at all if you don’t want to do. The idea of the hen party at home is that you bring the fun to you. Our Buff Butlers are a perfect example – they can act as hosts, serving drinks and snacks and running fun games. We can work in your own home as well as at other venues. Another idea is to hire a personal chef and have a high-quality meal served at your home. This is ideal if you have a smaller group for your hen party. The chef will bring all the ingredients for a menu you agree beforehand and if you are even a bit of a foodie, it is a real treat.
